I Am U’s mission is to empower women impacted by HIV, Inter-Partner Violence, or other complex traumas. We aim to enhance the quality of their overall well-being by providing access to culturally sensitive prevention services, health education and a healing community.

After pausing last year to honor the importance of rest, we are back for our 7th annual gathering on Saturday, December 6, 2025. This year’s theme, “Reclaiming Your Power: Embracing the Journey of Rediscovery” (Hebrews 4:9-10 NLT), reflects our commitment to renewal and empowerment.

Beyond My Diagnosis educates and uplifts the community about HIV through powerful storytelling and performances, while also championing socio economic justice by featuring vendors whose lives and work are closely connected to the cause.

Want a glimpse of the impact? Watch our recap video and see why Beyond My Diagnosis is more than an event—it’s a movement.

Beyond My Diagnosis 2025 is quickly approaching!

Sis, Me Too

Sis, Me Too is a support network that is aimed at countering social isolation among women who are challenged by a myriad of social disparities, i.e. survivors of Intimate Partner Violence, poverty, STI/HIV transmission vulnerability, former incarceration and substance abuse.

Gatherings are currently convening monthly which will address the need  for a trusted sisterhood, a sense of belonging, and applicable community linkages for the overall well being of the woman.

Growth happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the doctor’s offices to help ensure women who are living with HIV have the necessary support.

Sis, Me Too Retreat 2025 Recap

In March 2025, twenty women gathered at YMCA of the Pines for the Sis, Me Too Retreat. This 3-day experience offered space for rest, renewal, and sisterhood, creating an environment where participants could reflect, connect, and heal. Attendees left with strengthened bonds, new strategies for self-care, and a deeper sense of empowerment.

“A diagnosis is not a burden but a rebirth to see life through a different lens and find a way to use your life and experience to inspire, uplift and encourage others.”
